When does it ship?
We're targeting Q2 2027 (estimated May). Between now and then the card completes FCC, ISED and CE certification and the first production run. Backers get a build update every month, and every preorder is fully refundable until it ships.
Does it work with my phone?
Yes. It snaps directly onto MagSafe iPhones (iPhone 12 and newer) and Qi2 phones with built-in magnets, and onto any other phone or case with the included magnetic ring. The iOS app is available at launch; Android follows shortly after.
How does it record phone calls?
A bone-conduction sensor picks up the call through vibration in your phone's body, so both sides are captured without speakerphone and without a call-recording app. Always follow local consent laws and let people know you're recording.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Every card includes Essentials — 300 transcription minutes a month, summaries, action items and search — at no cost. Pro and Unlimited are optional upgrades for heavier use.
Is it always listening?
Never. Sottile only records when you press the button, and the amber light is on whenever it's recording. When the light is off, the microphones are off.
What happens to my recordings?
They're encrypted in transit and at rest, never used to train AI models, and you can delete any recording — or your account — at any time.
Is the card on this page the final product?
The images are concept renders of the production design, and specifications are targets until certification is complete. We'll share photos of production samples with backers as soon as we have them.
